Overview

AI in My Life;  Module 3 – AL and Careers

Module 3 focuses on the impact of AI on working life and it takes a look at related career options. This first lesson within this module focuses on the prevalence and transformative nature of AI across almost all sectors of industry. The second lesson highlights the varied job opportunities for those interested in AI, as well as relevant options for further study related to the field of AI. Lesson 2 is currently in development and will be available soon. Lesson 3 and 4 focus on Citizen Science and how students can become researchers and know to help us capture data on how the Irish Public feel about digital privacy. These Lessons do not need to be completed in order.

 

Lesson 1- AI and the Future of Work 

This lesson will introduce students to how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the world of work. They will learn how AI will disrupt some jobs while replacing others, and they’ll explore the multidisciplinary nature of AI.

 

 

 

 

Lesson 2 – Careers in AI

Introduction:  In this lesson, students will explore potential careers in, or with, AI. This lesson showcases possible future roles and possible courses students can take to work in these sectors

 

 

 

 

Lesson 3 – Public Privacy

This module is intended to introduce students to the concepts of scientific survey techniques, and the practicalities of running a national survey on attitudes to privacy. Students will be introduced to the challenges around survey construction and analysis.

 

 

 

 

Lesson – 4 Citizen Science

Introduction: This citizen science module is intended to introduce students to the concepts of citizen science, and engage them in running a national survey on attitudes to privacy. 

Students will be introduced to the challenges around citizen engagement in the National Privacy Survey. Students will be asked to work in groups to refine next year’s survey by prioritising topics, formulating new questions, and identifying questions to be cut. 

Finally, students will work with their friends and relatives to publicise the National Privacy Survey and help gather responses.
